Bill didn’t set out to run a roofing company. He set out to do the right thing — in the military, in the non-profit world, and eventually on Tucson roofs. Desert Sky Roofing is what happened when he finally saw an industry that needed someone to hold it to a higher standard.

Bill left the roofing company he worked for because he witnessed unethical practices too often to ignore. DSR exists specifically to give Tucson homeowners a contractor they can trust. If your roof can be repaired, we repair it. If it cannot, we tell you exactly why — and never sell you something you don’t need.
Bill spent 20+ years in the military, where accountability isn’t a slogan — it’s survival. That standard carried into DSR. Every job has a named owner, every change order is in writing, and every promise has a date on it. Roofing it right the first time is not a marketing line; it’s the operating procedure.

Desert Sky Roofing is owned by Bill Kimbley. Bill grew up in Kentucky, where he learned firsthand how small businesses operate from his family, who owned a marina on a local lake. After graduating high school, he entered the military and went on to serve more than 20 years in munitions and military intelligence.
He is a decorated veteran who believes in discipline, accountability, and doing the mission correctly the first time. After leaving the military, Bill served two nonprofit organizations before joining a local contracting company in Tucson. After witnessing unethical practices in the industry among other roofing companies, he felt Tucson needed another roofing company that could be trusted.
That led him to step out with his son, William, to start Desert Sky Roofing: a company built on integrity and client-first values.
