• The roof was then left to fully dry before we came back to do the patching and first coat.
• PRO NOTE: Have you ever wondered why blisters show up on roofs? Some Tucson roofing contractors don’t wait enough time before coating the roof which leaves water stuck in the cracks and seams. This water later heats and vaporizes and pushed outward on the roof coating causing blisters.  While this is not the only reason blisters show up, this is one of the main reasons.  It is always important to ensure the roof is dry before the first coat and patching is performed.

• Reinforcing Problem Areas On The Roof (See Video)

• Any cracks and vulnerable spots were treated using polyester fabric with Tucson Rubberized 297X waterproofing primer. This step strengthens the roof and prevents leaks from developing.
• We then reinforced all scuppers and roof penetrations (the areas most prone to leaks) with polyester fabric-reinforced mastic to create a watertight seal.
• PRO NOTE: Primer is very important! We don’t know why so many Tanque Verde roofing companies do not use TRC 297X primer for patching. This primer waterproofs and becomes an excellent surface for new coating to bond to. This is absolutely the best product on the market to use for repairs before coating a roof.

• Applying Tucson Rubberized 7000 Premium Roof Coating

• We applied two coats of Tucson Rubberized 7000, a high-quality elastomeric roof coating designed to reflect UV rays, prevent leaks, and extend the life of flat roofs. This the second best coating on the market. Tucson Rubberized 10000 is probably the best acrylic coating because it has fillers of resin.  It is also much more expensive that the 7000, but definitely worth the extra cost.
• Unlike many other roofing contractors in Tanque Verde, we put in writing the exact amount of material we will use. We follow the manufacturer’s recommended application rate of 100 sqft per gallon per coat, ensuring proper coverage that lasts. We never skimp on coating!
• PRO NOTE: If you want to know how many buckets of material to put on your roof then divide the total square footage by 500 for one coat, or 250 for two coats. This will give you the exact amount of material Tucson Rubberized requires for their warranties.
